The project’s biggest challenge was to modernise and improve the house but still preserve its original Victorian style.

We created an open space at the rear of the house that fits a large kitchen, dining room, and living room. Furthermore, we placed an exposed fireplace and chimney stack in the middle of the area to visually separate the receiving room from the dining area. Another benefit of the glass-sided log burner is that it creates a cosy and luxurious atmosphere. Our team also installed oak shelves to complete the warm feel.

The wall facing the garden in the living room was enhanced with a new French door. In the same manner, the dining room got a timber frame, glazed screen stained Accoya posts, and a transom incorporating slim frame metal doors and windows in bronze.

The project included temporary works, structural steelwork, specialist joinery works including a new staircase and balustrade, zinc roof and all internal and external finishes.

On the top floor, we have created a new spacious loft room and shower room. The roof windows added natural light.

Another enhancement we made was installing new casement and sash windows throughout the whole house. They perfectly matched the old windows and feature real acid-etched glass .

Grosh perfectly understood our aim to sympathetically modernise our Victorian house, a project that involved a reasonable amount of complexity and structural work. Throughout the project the team were hard-working, extremely skillful and resourceful in resolving any challenges, worked with great care and showed an enormous attention to detail. Overall the professional approach and the quality of work were outstanding and the team have delivered a stunning contemporary new home, whilst retaining the best of its original character. They were an absolute pleasure to work with – many thanks to Pawel and the team.

Grosh Construction Ltd created a unique kitchen and dining area side extension with roof glazing and a Douglass fir frame. We worked closely with the Architect to make a beautiful space where the family could eat and spend time together.

Brickwork to the external elevation, including Terracotta Slips to line the rear door, external alcove, and the kitchen window’s lower external walls, complement the original historic structure.

Our joinery team crafted clear-grade Douglas fir post rafters and shelves in the dining area adding integrity and richness suitable for this part of the house.

Barn Glass fixed triple-glazed roof lights illuminate the area and add a sculptural element to the design.

We were also thrilled to do internal finishes and decorating of the ground floor. Installation of engineering floorboards Oak Grey White Oiled is an elegant option carefully tailored to the lifestyle and taste of the owner. The final result is a bright kitchen with a big window facing the garden.

The owner hired us to renovate the first-floor shower room as well. It is now a characterful bright space that fits the owner’s needs and desires.

After we completed the project, this home ended up with a better connection with the backyard, more natural light, and ample shelving space.

We were very fortunate to find the Grosh Construction Company. After a bad experience with another builder, Grosh took over the extension of our kitchen at very short notice. From the start he was meticulous in his work and he continued to manage the rest of the project with great skill and efficiency. The site was always kept well organised and clean, materials arrived on time and his employees demonstrated considerable skill in their work.

We were delighted with the end result, the very high quality of the work and the relatively stress free experience. We have no hesitation in strongly recommending the Grosh Construction Company.

At North Kensington Finstock Road, we were hired to modifiy existing side extension, main house roof renovation, and create a specious office from two smaller bedrooms.

At Grosh Construction Ltd, we approach each project with passion and attention to detail.

The outcome is a new, quality roof with windows that scoops up natural morning light. This new arrangement brings an open and warm atmosphere during breakfast. Our precision and skills, combined with the high-quality materials we used, resulted in a sturdy roof that will last for decades to come.

The owner also wanted us to transform two smaller bedrooms located on the first floor into one big office space. Unlike the previous arrangement, our outcome responds perfectly to their priorities and lifestyle.

The renovation included joinery works and decorating. Again, our talented professionals were up to the task and managed to create a modern look without spoiling the original style.

The Alexander Street project included complete remodelling of the GF and LGF.
Starting with the rear of the house, we have created a two-storey opening which required temporary works and structural steelwork. That allowed for the installation of the glazed screens. Thanks to this element, the space is now filled with lots of natural lighting. Moreover, it provides a direct view of the backyard.

We also added a rear extension with a cast concrete external staircase from the extension roof terrace to the garden patio. This solution is functional and fits naturally into the existing exterior design. We chose smooth Indian sandstone paving for the rear patio and stairs.

The reinforced concrete external stairs lead to the Ground floor terrace with a walk-on roof light and hardwood decking. There, we successfully installed new hardwood folding doors and windows. Together with carefully positioned roof windows, they create a stunning sitting space with lots of natural light and a beautiful garden view.

Once again, we proved that we can turn any space, no matter how limited, into a modern and stylish room of your choice.

Our team was also tasked with roofing works. We took care of damp proofing and tanking to the lower ground floor.

We wrapped the project with top quality internal and external finishes.
